What are you currently reading?

I am reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare – book one of The Mortal Instruments series which was released as a movie last year. I always like to read the book before watching the movie so haven’t seen it yet. Currently on page 357 out of 442 so not long to go. It’s a really easy read and i’m quite enjoying it after reading something as heavy going as Catch-22.

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. It’s taking me a while to get through, which usually happens with books that have really long chapters because I find it harder to concentrate on books. It’s enjoyable though and i’m interested in the story line, and it’s written in a digestible way.

What did you recently finish reading?

I’ve finished two books since my last WWW Wednesday – A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, and A Judgement in Stone by Ruth Rendell. One I loved, one I didn’t – check out the reviews to find out which was which.

WWW Wednesday & Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I haven’t done a review in a while, mainly due to xmas/NY celebrations, but also because I got a new kitten and he’s too adorable so i’ve been lazy with this.

I’m about to write a review, but for now, here’s this weeks WWW Wednesday, which is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading.

What are you currently reading?

Yesterday I started Scandalands by Kyle Sandilands. For those not from Australia, he’s a controversial Radio host in Australia, who has been voted most hated man for years. He was homeless at 15, and has led an interesting life so i’m reading his book. Only a few chapters in, and while his writing style is terrible, I’m enjoying the content.

The last book I finished was Paint it Black by Janet FitchShe’s the same author who wrote White Oleander. I will review this book soon.
