Teaser Tuesday

23 Apr

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Should Be Reading.

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Book: This is embarrassing, but I’m still going on A Clash of Kings by George R R Martin. It’s taking me forever to finish, so here’s another teaser, this time from page 734. I’m up to page 504.

He had never sounded more like a stupid little boy. Sansa touched her lips to the metal, thinking that she would kiss any number of swords sooner than Joffrey.

    Oh, Sansa, you silly girl!

I completely understand how you can still be slogging through George Martin’s epic. Are you going to read all of them?

I have finally read a couple books this year. And just started Kate Atkinson’s “Life After Life.” Here are two lines (not a spoiler, since all the reviews reveal the story, in which a character is continually reborn):

No breath. All the world come down to this. One breath.
Little lungs, like dragonfly wings failing to inflate in the foreign atmosphere.

I plan to read them all! I really enjoy them even though they take forever

Sounds like a good book! Is the character literally reborn over and over or figuratively

No need to be embarrassed. Sounds like this is a really loooong book, especially if your teaser is from page 734. I would have quit reading long before page 504.

It’s pretty long but if only I were on holiday it’d be finished within a week! Nice teaser! Are you from a similar area that the book is set?

Heh, great teaser. It’s a long book, so it’s understandable that it would take you awhile to get through it!

Here’s my teaser from SUDDENLY ROYAL by Nichole Chase.
