  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Teaser

Book: I’m STILL reading The World Beneath by Cate Kennedy. I have been so busy at work i’ve hardly had a chance to read. I’m now up to page 194, and my teaser is from page 295.

As if flowers, she thought wonderingly, could hold so much power over human emotions, as if they contained the essence of all our frailties. As if we could be rescued.

Nice teaser! It stinks when life gets in the way of reading, haha! Here’s my TT post!

Beautiful lines from “The World Beneath” – can’t wait to read the review.

I’m rereading David Mitchell’s “Black Swan Green,” which is a memoir disguised as a coming-of-age novel. Here are my TT lines (not a spoiler – and not making fun of people with stammers – the novel is a wonderful celebration of the love of language and self-expression through the eyes of an adolescent stammerer):

“When a stammerer stammers their eyeballs pop out, they go trembly-red like an evenly matched arm wrestler, and their mouth guppergupperguppers like a fish in a net. It must be quite a funny sight.”

Good teaser. I’m wondering why she’s musing about flowers, and I’m curious about what she needs to be rescued from.
My teaser is from THE DAY AFTER YESTERDAY.
